FAQ
Common questions about Wenodify Studio.
Quick answers on the two studios, graph types, export, local storage, and how Wenodify fits with Wekify and Peacae.
What is the difference between Wenodify and Wenodify Studio?
Wenodify is the product brand. Wenodify Studio is the in-browser workspace where you map ideas or build family trees. Open Studio at /app, then choose Idea Map (/app/idea-map) or Family Tree (/app/genealogy).
Why are Idea Map and Family Tree separate studios?
Genealogy needs partners, parent links, generations, and symmetric child placement — a different data model than a generic idea tree. Keeping them separate keeps each canvas focused and makes exports unambiguous (graph_type for Idea Map, mode family-tree for genealogy).
Do I need an account to use Wenodify Studio?
No. Both studios save to your browser storage automatically. Open a studio, start mapping, and export when you are ready.
What are Idea Map graph types?
Graph types (ideas, conversation, chatbot, quiz, steps, explorer) share the same tree canvas but change node naming, preview shape, export filename, and SQL export profile. Pick the type that matches how your content will be delivered downstream.
What are Family Tree tree types?
Tree types (family genealogy, language family, clan lineage, noun class, word etymology, dialect map, org chart, knowledge domain) share the same relationship canvas but set starting labels, descriptions, and a treeType field in exported JSON. Pick a template on the empty state before you start. See /docs/tree-types for the full list.
Can I switch graph type after I start mapping?
You pick graph type when you start a new Idea Map session. It affects labels, preview, and export profile. For a different type, export JSON if you need to keep work, then start fresh with the new type or adjust graphType in the exported JSON before re-import.
Can I export my work as JSON or SQL?
Yes. Idea Map exports wenodify-{graphType}.json or .sql. Family Tree exports JSON, SQL, or PNG. JSON is full round-trip for editing again in Studio. SQL includes an export profile comment block for loaders.
Where is my work stored?
In your browser's local storage — separate saves for Idea Map and Family Tree. Export JSON regularly for backups you control. Clearing site data removes local saves.
Does Wenodify replace Ancestry or Miro?
No. Wenodify Studio is built for fast authoring and clean export — not as a genealogy subscription service or infinite whiteboard. Export hands structure to your stack or preservation platforms.
How does Wenodify relate to Wekify and Peacae?
Wenodify is part of the Peacae.com family from Wekify LLC. Wekify works on language preservation; Peacae hosts related products. Studio authors structure; specialized platforms preserve and deliver experiences.
Can I import a file back into Studio?
Yes. Use Import JSON from the Idea Map toolbar or More tools in Family Tree to continue editing an exported document.
What does nodify mean?
To nodify is to work on the canvas — add nodes, branch, relate, label, note, and lay out a map or tree. Wenodify is the brand; Studio is where you nodify.
What is an export profile?
A comment block at the top of SQL exports that documents graph_type or family-tree mode, field mapping, loader hints, schema notes, and row counts. Downstream loaders should read it before inserting rows.
