FAQ
Create content visually — how Studio works.
Quick answers on visual mapping, Idea Map vs a typical mind map, Family Tree vs genealogy software, export, and how Wenodify fits with Wekify, Peacae, and Kifuliiru.
What does Create Content Visually mean?
Wenodify is a visual studio: you author on a canvas instead of a blank document. Idea Map turns ideas into maps, conversations, quizzes, and guides. Idea Pad is a freeform whiteboard for sticky cards and ink. Family Tree maps people, generations, and lineage. Export JSON or SQL when the structure is ready.
Is Wenodify a mind map tool?
Yes. Idea Map is how you create content visually as maps and concept maps: a root idea, branches, collapse, search, and layout. You pick a type (ideas, conversation, quiz, steps, and more) so the same tree exports as JSON or SQL — not just a picture.
What is Idea Pad?
Idea Pad is Studio's freeform whiteboard at /app/idea-pad. Drop sticky cards, draw ink, connect cards with arrows, and focus a branch by hops. It autosaves locally and exports JSON. Use it when the idea is still loose; switch to Idea Map when you need a structured tree.
Can I use it as a family tree maker or genealogy software?
Yes. Family Tree is a free family tree maker for genealogy — partners, children, generations, and PNG, JSON, or SQL export. It also covers language family trees, clan lineage, and org charts on the same canvas. It is not an Ancestry-style subscription or historical records service.
What is the difference between Wenodify and Studio?
Wenodify is the product. Studio is the in-browser workspace at /app where you create content visually. Choose Idea Map (/app/idea-map), Idea Pad (/app/idea-pad), or Family Tree (/app/genealogy).
Why are the three studios separate?
A mind map, a whiteboard, and a family tree are not the same data. Genealogy needs partners, parent links, and generations. Idea Map is a typed tree with export shapes. Idea Pad is an infinite board of cards, ink, and arrows. Keeping them separate keeps each canvas focused and makes exports unambiguous.
Do I need an account to use Studio?
No. All three studios save to your browser storage automatically. Open a studio, start a mind map, whiteboard, or family tree, and export when you are ready. Sign in if you want cloud sync for Idea Map and Family Tree; Idea Pad is local-first only.
What are Idea Map graph types?
Graph types (ideas, conversation, chatbot, quiz, steps, explorer, cot) share the same mind map canvas but change node naming, preview shape, export filename, and SQL export profile. Ideas is the closest to a classic concept map. Pick the type that matches how your content will be delivered downstream.
What are Family Tree tree types?
Tree types (family genealogy, language family, clan lineage, noun class, word etymology, dialect map, org chart, knowledge domain) share the same family tree maker canvas but set starting labels, descriptions, and a treeType field in exported JSON. Pick a template on the empty state before you start. See /docs/tree-types for the full list.
Can I switch graph type after I start mapping?
You pick graph type when you start a new Idea Map session. It affects labels, preview, and export profile. For a different type, export JSON if you need to keep work, then start fresh with the new type or adjust graphType in the exported JSON before re-import.
Can I export my work as JSON or SQL?
Yes. Idea Map exports wenodify-{graphType}.json or .sql. Family Tree exports JSON, SQL, or PNG. Idea Pad exports wenodify-idea-pad.json for round-trip editing. JSON is full round-trip for editing again in Studio. SQL includes an export profile comment block for loaders.
Where is my work stored?
In your browser's local storage — separate saves for Idea Map, Idea Pad, and Family Tree. Export JSON regularly for backups you control. Clearing site data removes local saves.
Does Wenodify replace Ancestry or Miro?
No. Studio is a fast mind map, whiteboard, and family tree maker with clean export — not a genealogy subscription or historical records archive. Idea Pad is a focused local whiteboard, not a full collaboration suite like Miro. Export hands structure to your stack or preservation platforms.
How does Wenodify relate to Wekify, Peacae, and Kifuliiru?
Wenodify is this platform — the visual studio. Wekify LLC is the company that builds it. Peacae.com is the home for Wekify products that are not language products; Wenodify is one of them. Kifuliiru is the language Wekify is currently working with. Wenodify was created so teams can author Kifuliiru conversations, questions, and lesson paths, then export them to language platforms — and use the same studios for other places.
Can I import a file back into Studio?
Yes. Use Import JSON from the Idea Map toolbar, Idea Pad header, or More tools in Family Tree to continue editing an exported file. Idea Pad JSON uses mode idea-pad; Idea Map and Family Tree files will not load there.
What does nodify mean?
To nodify is to work on the canvas — add nodes or cards, branch, relate, label, note, and lay out a mind map, whiteboard, or family tree. Wenodify is the brand; Studio is where you nodify.
What is an export profile?
A comment block at the top of SQL exports that documents graph_type or family-tree mode, field mapping, loader hints, schema notes, and row counts. Downstream loaders should read it before inserting rows. Idea Pad exports JSON only.
