Wenodify

Getting started

Overview

What you need

A modern browser. That is it. Wenodify Studio runs entirely in the browser — Idea Map at /app/idea-map, Family Tree at /app/genealogy. Your work autosaves to local storage on your device.

Workflow

Four steps to your first export

  1. Choose a studioIdea Map for structured content — concept maps, conversations, quizzes, lesson steps, explorers. Family Tree for relationship trees — genealogy, language families, org charts, and more.
  2. Configure and startIdea Map asks you to pick a graph type first — it sets node labels, preview device, and export profile. Family Tree asks you to pick a tree type — it sets starting labels and the treeType field in export.
  3. Grow the structureAdd children, partners, or branches. Double-click names to rename. Use search, collapse, fit-to-view, and undo as the map grows. See keyboard shortcuts.
  4. Preview and exportIdea Map: open experience preview (⌘⇧E) to see phone, tablet, or desktop shape. Export JSON to keep editing, SQL for loaders, or PNG for Family Tree snapshots. Export guide →

Studios

Idea Map vs Family Tree

These are separate studios with separate saves — not modes inside one app. Switching between them does not merge data.

Idea Map

Nodes with label, body, status, parent_id hierarchy.

  • Five graph types at export time
  • Auto-layout, vertical tree, collapse
  • Node inspector and experience preview

Family Tree

People with partnerId, parentIds, depth, generations.

  • Eight tree types — genealogy, linguistics, org charts, and more
  • Placeholder partners until activated
  • Symmetric child placement under couples
  • Report panel and PNG export

Storage

Local-first by default

  • Each studio maintains its own browser save.
  • The status bar shows save state and live stats.
  • Export JSON regularly — that is your portable backup.
  • Reset clears the session — export first if you need to keep work.
