OverviewWhat Idea Pad is for
Idea Pad is Wenodify's freeform whiteboard: sticky cards, ink, and arrows on an infinite dark board. There is no graph type to pick and no tree layout. Use it when the idea is still loose — scenes, mood boards, messy research — then move to Idea Map when you need a structured tree and SQL export. For Kifuliiru work, that often means sketching a conversation or lesson on the board before you turn it into a typed map.
Open it at /app/idea-pad. Work saves automatically in this browser under a separate key from Idea Map and Family Tree. Idea Pad is local-first only — signing in does not sync the board to the cloud.

| Pan / select | Drag the board to move. Drag a card header to reposition it. |
| Draw | Freehand ink. Open the color pop to pick a stroke color. |
| Connect | Click two cards to draw an arrow from the first to the second. |
| Focus | Click a card to dim everything beyond N hops. Use + / − to widen or narrow the radius. |
| Add card | Places a sticky note near the center of the current view. |
| Undo last stroke | Removes the most recent ink stroke. Card edits are saved with the board. |
| Zoom | Scroll, pinch, or use the zoom buttons. The overview map jumps the viewport. |
| Clear board | Deletes cards, ink, and connections after confirm. Export first if you need a backup. |
Sticky cards
- Double-click the card body to type. Cards use a handwriting style so they read as notes, not nodes.
- Five paper colors cycle as you add cards.
- Drag the top strip to move a card without editing text.
Idea Pad cards are not Idea Map nodes. They have no graphType, status, or parent_id. Do not import an Idea Map JSON file here.
ExportJSON round-trip
Use Export in the header to download wenodify-idea-pad.json. The file includes app: "wenodify-studio", mode: "idea-pad", cards, strokes, and connections. Import replaces the current board. Idea Pad does not export SQL or PNG.
